I love any excuse to chirp, “Beam me up, Scottie!" which shows you my Star Trek preference.  My step-father and I have vigorous debates over which Star Trek is the best, but I can’t resist the low tech camp of the original.  Whatever type of Trekkie you are, you shouldn’t miss The Official STAR TREK Convention 2009.  Celebrating 38 years of adventure, the convention hits Vegas later this week.  The highlight may be the chance to get your photo taken with your favorite Enterprise voyager.  Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner top the list at $80 each, but discount voyagers like Jacob Kogan will crawl in front of the camera with you for as little as $35.  Autographs are less.

For the first time ever, all three Spocks will be together.  The Sunday event will will unite Jacob Kogan (The Young Spock) Zachary Quinto and Leonard Nimoy.  No news about Chris Pine (young Captain Kirk) attending. However, there will be plenty of other attractions including a music video competition, a costume parade, a gala performance and a celebrity breakfast as well as  Klingon Feast with Klingon celebrities MICHAEL DORN (Worf), TONY TODD (Kurn), SUZIE PLAKSON (K’Ehleyr), SPICE WILLIAMS (Vixis), and WILLIAM MORGAN SHEPPARD (Commander).

No new news on Star Trek The Experience returning to Vegas.
