More Vegas Beatles to Love

places are mentioned in this post!
The Beatles weren’t only influential, they were beloved and their music changed and inspired a generation. When a new Beatles album was released, it was a cultural phenomenon that took over radio stations, high school study halls and Friday night pizza parlors where intense discussion about the music, the lyrics, mindset of the band were held. For many, Sgt. Pepper was transformative. We’d never heard anything like it and the musical sophistication of the album blew down the walls that had previously boxed rock and roll into a traditional mix of vocals, guitar and pounding rhythm.
Cheap Trick members are obvious Sgt. Pepper fans. The group will perform the entire album, live, at the Las Vegas Hilton in September. The Bill Edwards Presents, Inc. production will feature a full symphony orchestra, audio production by Geoff Emerick (who received Grammy Awards for the engineering of Sgt. Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band and Abbey Road) and set design by René Lagler as well as special guest performances, to be announced.
Previous performances of “Sgt. Pepper Live” featuring Cheap Trick drew tens of thousands of fans for sold-out performances in Los Angeles, selling more than 53,000 tickets. “We are going to make rock ‘n’ roll history by incorporating this legendary American rock group with the music of the Beatles,” said Edwards. “This is a groundbreaking performance that everyone said couldn’t be done live, but Cheap Trick has perfected it.”
Cheap Trick is best known for their classic singles, “I Want You To Want Me” and “Surrender,” American power-pop progenitors Cheap Trick recorded the album, All Shook Up in 1980 with Sir George Martin and Geoff Emerick, producer and engineer of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.
