BTN Survey Ranks Crowne Plaza as Top Upscale Brand
Congratulations to IHG, whose Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts brand jumped from ninth place last year to the top of the list of Upscale Brands in the 2010 U.S. Hotel Chain Survey conducted by and recently published in Business Travel News.
Also impressive is number two on the list, where you see Hilton Garden Inn tied with Hyatt Place.
The Landmark Hotel Group has a Crowne Plaza and a Hilton Garden Inn in its family of hotels. According to Mark Smith, General Manager at Crowne Plaza Virginia Beach-Norfolk, “Crowne Plaza is committed to improving its customer focus. It’s a moving target that the management has to consistantly aim at, so it’s no surprise that customers recognize the brand for doing just that. It also appears that Hilton HHonors guests are migrating to the Priority Club Rewards Program, and are discovering that the ‘Sleep Advantage’ and other amenities set Crowne Plaza apart from its competitors.”
IHG faired well in other categories in the 2010 Hotel Chain Survey as well, which are highlighted in a recent post on IHG in the News.
When it comes to doing meetings right in Suffolk, VA, the Hilton Garden Inn Suffolk Riverfront, located in downtown Suffolk, also goes the extra mile by offering “green” meeting options at events hosted in the Suffolk Conference Center, something few hotels in the Suffolk area are able to pull off.
